Lakes

Lakes accessible by car

Laffrey lake  (20 minutes away): Very beautiful lake, with various water activities: pedal boats, sailboats, (no motor boats), therefore only the sound of water, birds and crickets in summer. Nice picnic area. Historic site with the "meeting fiel"  where Napoleon turned the King's army in his favor. Signs explain the whole

Monteynard lake (30 minutes away): Windsurfing and kite surfing paradise. One of the windiest lakes in France. You can also take dizzying footbridges that cross the lake from one bank to the other. Very nice walk.  Many water sports (water skiing, wake boarding, canoeing etc.)

Achard lake (35 minutes): here is a great goal for a walk. Mountain lake located in a very beautiful landscape, easy to reach, either by using the Chamrousse cable car (then it is only the descent), or from Chamrousse-Roche-Béranger. The difference in level is only 170 m. Very nice approach walk with blueberries, raspberries at the end of summer, forests, streams, marmots, and even chamois (with luck). Very nice picnic spots. Plan a good half day with children.
